The NFL has never been bigger in Australia. The 2026-27 season opened with the first regular-season game ever played here, when the San Francisco 49ers beat the LA Rams 27–7 in front of 100,021 fans at the MCG on 11 September 2026. Games now kick off on Monday mornings over breakfast, and Aussie bookmakers price every match.
Below you will find our NFL tips for this week, updated every Wednesday, plus everything you need to make your own: when games are on in Australian time, how each betting market works with worked examples, the numbers that decide NFL lines, and how to read the Super Bowl odds.
Quick tips: bet before kick-off (live online betting is not allowed in Australia), check the official injury report before you bet, respect the “key numbers” 3 and 7 on the line, and compare prices across a couple of bookmakers.
Week 7 (23 to 27 October 2026, AEDT) · Updated Thursday 22 October 2026
The 49ers are the NFC’s only unbeaten team at 6-0, the Eagles have lost four straight with Jalen Hurts on injured reserve, and the Bills have the week off. Here are our best bets for Week 7.
| Game (AEDT) | Tip | Price guide | Why we like it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 49ers v Falcons, Mon 26 Oct | 49ers -3.5 (line) | about $1.90 | San Francisco are 6-0 and Christian McCaffrey scored twice last week. Atlanta are 2-4 and just lost to Chicago. The 49ers need to win by 4 or more. |
| Cowboys v Eagles, Tue 27 Oct | Cowboys to win (head to head) | about $1.45 | The Eagles have lost four in a row and Tanner McKee lost his first start in place of the injured Jalen Hurts. The risk: Saquon Barkley may return for Philadelphia. |
| Packers v Lions, Mon 26 Oct | Packers +3.5 (line) | about $1.90 | Green Bay have won three straight and Jordan Love threw for 276 yards last week. Getting 3.5 points means a 3-point Lions win still pays. |
Multi idea: Vikings, 49ers and Cowboys to win (head to head). The Vikings are 5-0 and host a Colts side that has lost four of six. Combined odds of about $3.09 based on US prices: check the real price at your bookmaker with our multi bet calculator.

Australian bookmakers offer the same core NFL markets. Each example below uses a $20 stake and a made-up match between Team A and Team B, so you can see exactly what each bet pays.
| Market | How it works | Example bet | Returns if it wins |
|---|---|---|---|
| Head to head | Pick the winner. Overtime counts. If the game ends in a tie, most bookies treat head-to-head bets as a loss or refund, so check the rules. | Team A to win @ $1.65 | $33.00 |
| Line (spread) | The favourite gives a points start, the underdog receives it. Half points mean no draws. | Team A −3.5 @ $1.90 (Team A must win by 4 or more) | $38.00 |
| Total points | Bet on the combined score going over or under a number set by the bookie. | Over 45.5 points @ $1.90 (a 24–21 game wins) | $38.00 |
| Winning margin | Pick the winner and the margin band. | Team A by 1–6 points @ $4.50 | $90.00 |
| Anytime touchdown scorer | Pick a player to score a touchdown at any time in the game. | Player X anytime TD @ $2.50 | $50.00 |
| Player props | Bet on a player’s stats, such as passing yards or receptions. | Quarterback over 249.5 passing yards @ $1.87 | $37.40 |
| Futures | Bet on season results, such as Super Bowl winner, conference winner or MVP. | Team A to win Super Bowl LXI @ $12.00 | $240.00 |
The odds above are examples only, not current prices. You can combine bets from different games into a multi; our multi bet calculator shows the combined odds and your real chance of winning.
NFL scores come in 3s (field goals) and 7s (touchdowns with the extra point). That makes some winning margins far more common than others. Over many seasons, roughly 15% of NFL games are decided by exactly 3 points and about 9% by exactly 7. No other margins come close.
| Line you bet | Team must win by | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| −2.5 | 3 or more | Covers the most common margin of all, 3 |
| −3.5 | 4 or more | A 3-point win now loses your bet |
| −6.5 | 7 or more | Covers a 7-point win |
| −7.5 | 8 or more | A 7-point win now loses your bet |
| +3.5 (underdog) | Lose by 3 or less, or win | Gets the 3-point loss on your side |
Tip: a line of −2.5 is worth much more than −3.5, even though it is only one point. If one bookie has your team at −2.5 and another at −3.5 at similar odds, the −2.5 is the better bet.
Good NFL tips come from a routine, not a hunch. Work through this checklist before every bet.
| Check | Where to find it | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Injury report | Official team injury reports, released Wednesday to Friday in the US | Players listed as Out or Doubtful, above all the quarterback |
| Quarterback | Team news on game day | A backup quarterback can move the line by several points |
| Short week and travel | The schedule | Teams playing on Thursday after a Sunday game, or crossing the country, often struggle |
| Bye weeks | The schedule | Teams coming off a week off have had extra time to rest and prepare |
| Weather | Forecast for the stadium | Strong wind and heavy rain usually mean fewer points, which matters for totals |
| Line movement | Compare the opening line with the current one | A big move often means team news has dropped |
| Price | Two or three bookmakers | Taking the best price on every bet adds up over a season |
Home teams still win slightly more often, but the edge is smaller than it used to be. Bookmakers already build it into the line, so “they are at home” is not a reason to bet on its own.
With only 17 games, a team’s first three or four results can mislead. Look at how they won, not just whether they did.
A five-leg NFL multi on the line at $1.90 a leg pays well but lands only about 1 time in 25 according to the odds. Two or three legs is a more sensible size.
Because of the key numbers, half a point can be worth more than a few cents of price. Compare both. Our sportsbook reviews cover the main Australian bookmakers.
Super Bowl LXI is on Sunday 14 February 2027 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, which is Monday morning 15 February in eastern Australia. Bookmakers open Super Bowl winner markets months ahead, and the odds move every week as results, injuries and trades come in.
Super Bowl odds are easier to judge when you convert them into a percentage. The table shows what each price says about a team’s chance, and what a $10 bet returns.
| Super Bowl winner odds | Chance implied by the odds | Return on a $10 bet |
|---|---|---|
| $5.00 | 20.0% | $50.00 |
| $7.00 | 14.3% | $70.00 |
| $9.00 | 11.1% | $90.00 |
| $12.00 | 8.3% | $120.00 |
| $15.00 | 6.7% | $150.00 |
| $21.00 | 4.8% | $210.00 |
| $34.00 | 2.9% | $340.00 |
| $51.00 | 2.0% | $510.00 |
| $101.00 | 1.0% | $1,010.00 |
Add up the implied chances of every team in a futures market and you will usually get well over 100%. The extra is the bookmaker’s margin, and it is much bigger on futures than on single games. That is one reason to compare prices before you bet a futures market.
| Market | What you are betting on |
|---|---|
| Head to head and line | The winner, or the winner with a points start |
| Total points | Combined score over or under the bookie’s number |
| Super Bowl MVP | The player named most valuable player, usually a quarterback |
| First touchdown scorer | The player who scores the game’s first touchdown |
| Winning margin | The winning team and the margin band |
| Player props | Passing yards, rushing yards, receptions and more |

Right here. We post our best NFL bets, a multi idea and the line for every game in the “NFL Tips This Week” section at the top of this page, updated every Wednesday during the season. This page also shows you how to build your own tips using the injury report, the schedule, the weather and line movement.
Most NFL games kick off on Monday morning in eastern Australia, from 4am or 5am AEDT for the early Sunday games through to the Sunday night game around lunchtime. Thursday games are on Friday around midday.
Super Bowl LXI is on Sunday 14 February 2027 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. In eastern Australia, that is Monday morning 15 February.
It means the team is giving a 3.5-point start. They must win by 4 or more points for your bet to win. Because so many NFL games are decided by exactly 3, the difference between -2.5 and -3.5 is important.
Not online. Australian law does not allow in-play sports betting through apps or websites. You can bet live over the phone with a licensed bookmaker.
Ties are rare but possible in the regular season. How head-to-head bets are settled on a tie depends on the bookmaker, so check its rules. Line bets with half points cannot be a tie.
Bookmakers set futures odds from each team’s strength, schedule and injuries, then adjust them for the money being bet. To see the chance a price implies, divide 1 by the decimal odds. For example, $12.00 implies about 8.3%.
The San Francisco 49ers beat the LA Rams 27-7 at the MCG on 11 September 2026 (Australian time), in the first NFL regular-season game played in Australia. The crowd was 100,021.
The NFL is one of the most popular sports to bet on in the world, and the Monday-morning time slot makes it easy to follow from Australia. Build your tips from the injury report and the key numbers, compare prices before you bet, and treat Super Bowl futures as a long-term, small-stake bet.
